Yikes — most of us still have the images of last September of still fresh in our minds of our historic flood.  Today, the National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Watch for the next couple of days for serious amounts of rain to fall and more flooding for the same exact areas that were hit last September.  While no weather forecast is ironclad, it certainly has made me uneasy to think about yet another flood event.  With Bryon being a meteorologist, I usually vehemently defend the profession of forecasting, but this is one time, when I kind of hope they are wrong.  It puts us all on edge one more time.

This has certainly been a stormy month, and a difficult one for trying to do afternoon programs in the park.  I have a wildflower walk I do on Saturdays at 2:30 p.m., and so far 5 out of 7 have been stormed/washed out.  Too bad because this year has been spectacular for the flowers that are blooming.  As they say, you definitely can not control the weather.  Stay tuned…
