In any other part of the country, getting a major snowstorm in mid-May would cause people to pull out the record books. But not in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I’ve seen it snow 11 months of the year, and so a forecast of 9-18 inches at our home in Nederland for Mother’s Day is not that surprising, but is exciting. I thought I had hung up my skis for the season, but one last chance at some powder is too tempting, so am planning on hitting Arapahoe Basin on Monday. Bring it on!  Update:  As it turned out, our last snow storm of the season turned out to be our biggest, with about 22 inches of snow falling at our house.
